YELLOWSTONE....YELLOWSTONE!!!

OK, let's just get something out of the way up front. Yellowstone is sweet. It was our first vacation as a family and Sam enjoyed it. We got tons of cool pics, met some weirdies and had an all-around great time. What follows is the proof.

We first went to Rexburg to show McKenna BYU Idaho, which was cool. There we saw Bear World, which is like a zoo where you can go and see bears. We also feed bears and Shelby actually fed a bear cub with a bottle. After all of this was concluded they rode little kiddie roller coasters. This is all very true-to-life bear stuff. It is what they do in the wild. Now to the pics.

Here we have an elk. It has really cool antlers. There will be cooler elk later on in the pictures.

This is a bison. There were many of them on the trip.

Look how enthusiastic these bears are! They were alot happier when we gave them food.

Look how enthusiastic Sam is! He is alot happier when we give him food.

Bear World was a blast, but now lets get onto the real stuff. Yellowstone, here we come!

This was one of the many falls in the park. Cool, huh?The dead trees are left over from the fire in '88. I loved this view.

There are tons of hot springs too, which make alot of different formations. This is whats called Mammoth Springs and also Canary Springs.

Doesn't this look like something off of a crazy post-apocalyptic movie?
The cool thing about Yellowstone is that when there is something cool to see EVERYONE pulls over. So you never miss anything. One night we were driving home and we found some stuff no one had. ELK!

What a great sunset.

It seemed like everyone in the free world pulled over to see this guy.

Isn't she beautiful? Oh, there is a cool river that leads to a waterfall behind her.

This is where the water fell.

This guy stopped us and complemented us on Sam. Wendy was quick on her feet and asked if we could get a picture with him.

All of those little brown dots are bison. There are tons of them!!!

Here they are closer. There were seriously people standing three away from the bison. There were warnings all over the place that bison charge without warning. Hello!

If you will look up past the cars you can see the big brown butt of a bison. This is when we were is a rush to get to a boat tour on Lake Yellowstone. There was a traffic jam caused by a bison.

This is the face that belonged to the butt. SEEYAH!
PS - One of the great coincidences of this vacation is that after each day in the park we ended up eating the animals that we saw. After day one I ate elk tips and after day two I ate a bison steak. Mmmm...bison steak.

We made it! Here we are on the tour. Look how happy Kenna is.

After the sweet sweet boat tour we went to Old Faithful.

Who knew McKenna could breath fire?

OLD FAITHFUL!!!

SO that is Yellowstone. What a great vacation. And that was only the first one. Family is so great!
